Supporting the economy through recession is one of the two key priorities set out by the Secretary of State in January 2009. The demand for new higher education skills, retraining, management training and regional capacity building, employer engagement and working with training and enterprise organisations will be imperative. This conference brought together leading speakers and organisations to set out policy, examine success stories and case studies, look at funding issues and discuss how to rise to the challenge.
