The New Local Government Landscape
04 Dec 2007
This conference heard from a variety of senior figures involved in the current change process in local government. Delegates heard that authorities need the support of their politicians to drive through change and that reorganisation is all about outcomes – it will and must deliver better and more efficient services for citizens. Speakers also explored how local government must retain talent in the transition and that shared services don’t have to be delivered through partnerships with the private sector but can be done through public public partnerships.
