Higher Education after the election: strategy implications across a five year Parliament #HEafterGE15
18 Jun 2015

The recent General Election has resulted in the first Conservative-only cabinet in 18 years. Change, disruption and opportunities lie ahead for the sector.

Absorbing the impacts of the General Election will be critical for institutions and leaders in Higher Education.

Universities stand to potentially win greater freedom to raise funds, and taxation changes could greatly benefit institutions and help facilitate collaboration.

However there are also fears student fees could rise “significantly” after 2015, and the Conservative pledge to tighten the rules on visas for international students have the potential to negatively impact on student enrolment numbers.

Research funds made available to UK institutions by the European Union could also come under threat depending on the result of the proposed referendum on EU Membership.

Our presenters and commentators will provide important insight and understanding of the policy implications of the directions of the new Government.

The conference can be viewed online from hubs around the UK and will also be available to watch on demand.
