Charlie Meadows

Charlie Meadows, Regional Officer, The Royal College of Midwives

Charlie commenced his training in 1969 as a direct entry student Midwife, at the then Sheffield City General, undertaking the 2 and a half year course and qualifying in 1971.

He worked as a rotational Staff Midwife obtaining a Sisters post in 1973. He remained at Sheffield and worked there for a total of 28 years, the last 12 years as a labour ward co-ordinator and also Sister in charge of the Obstetric Theatre. Charlie became an RCM Steward in 1989/90 and joined the RCM as a Regional Officer in 1998. He has represented the RCM on the National On Call sub group since the negotiations commenced in July 2008.
