Professor Si-Chen Lee

Professor Si-Chen Lee is the President of Taiwan University, a position he has held since 2005. He has also been the President of the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering since 2009 and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Taiwan University since 1985. Previous roles include President of the Association of Universities of Taiwan, Chair of the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific, Dean of academic affairs at Taiwan University, Assistant to the Minister of Defense and Director, Department of Electrical Engineering, Taiwan University. He has also been Director of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Taiwan University and Vice Directorate at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Taipei section. Professor Lee has been a Fellow of the Institute IEEE since 2002 and in 2000 won the IEEE medal for outstanding achievements and contributions on electronic devices. Professor Lee was also awarded a Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by Kansai University in 2005, the 47th Academic Award of Ministry of Education in 2003 and the Annual Medal from Chinese Association of Electrical Engineers in 2002.
