Jo Hutchinson

 Jo Hutchinson
Jo Hutchinson manages the diverse research portfolio of the International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS) and chairs the University of Derby’s Research Ethics Committee. Jo has developed a specialism in the needs of different groups of young people including those who are excluded, and those who are in danger of exclusion in the context of services that support their decision making processes.

Recent work in schools has included longitudinal research with schools to support their integration of careers learning in STEM subjects for the DfE STEM Cohesion programme; the use of the web to support career learning and decision making for UKCES; and a review of IAG for young people with respect to equality and diversity issues for the Equalities and Human Rights Commission. Jo is currently working on a project to investigate the services that young mothers value in their move back into employment or learning.
