Lynn Merilion

Principal, Stockport College.

Lynn started working in the Further Education sector in 1989. On returning from Australia, Lynn started work at Yeovil College as a main grade lecturer. Whilst at Yeovil College Lynn led on a significant piece of research called, Challenging Choices, which investigated the career choices of young people. The research won the Fawcett Award for Equality and Diversity. Following several internal promotions Lynn moved to Salford College then to Eccles College where she had her first appointment as a Senior Manager to set up the Business Development Unit.

In 2001 Lynn moved to Stockport College where she was instrumental in moving the College from Ofsted category of inadequate to Outstanding and Beacon status in 2008. In 2006 Lynn became the Deputy Principal of the College following a merger with another local College. Lynn was appointed Principal in April 2009.

Lynn’s interests include, travel, golf, gardening and food. Lynn lives in Stockport and is an active member of the community.
