Kay Walker

Kay Walker has worked as a Community Midwife with Askern GP’s in North Doncaster for two and a half years. In her 29 years service Kay has experience in a variety of workplace settings.

Kay began her nursing career in 1982 as an auxiliary on an acute mental health unit. Once qualified as a Staff Nurse in 1986 Kay worked on an acute medical transit / medical ward until 1989 when she commenced her midwifery training.
Kay worked as a midwife in a hospital setting until 1998 before changing pathway to work as a staff nurse in a male prison. Whilst here, Kay qualified as a Mental Health Nurse. She returned to midwifery in 2004 and during ‘Return to Practise’ worked in an agency in a variety of settings including nursing homes, female prison, hospitals and BPAS.

Kay returned to hospital until February 2009 when she joined the team at Askern as a Community Midwife. Kay is committed to integrated working within her community role.
