Flo Panel-Coates

Flo joined Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust as the Chief Nurse in August 2008 from the North Middlesex University NHS Trust where she had been Director of Nursing since 2005. At North Middlesex, Flo had overall responsibility for the development and professional accountability of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied health professionals and helped to move the trust from a zero star organisation to receiving a quality rating of good in the 2008 Healthcare Commission ratings whilst delivering financial turnaround.

As Chief Nurse at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Flo has professional responsible for all Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals, as well as Clinical Governance, Complaints, Patient Safety, Audit, Research & Development and Risk and works closely with the Medical Director to improve care and the Patient’s experience.

Flo has 20 years experience in the NHS and a clinical background in Emergency Care. She has developed a keen interest in leadership both within Nursing and at Trust Board level. She believes that the development of Nursing Key Performance Indicators supported by a robust performance framework and visible leadership have been key in delivering Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells improvements in clinical care to date and essential to continue to support its journey.
