David Ruse

 David Ruse
David Ruse is a senior practitioner with substantial experience in local government, having worked in Bath and Berkshire and the London boroughs of Havering; Barking & Dagenham, and Westminster. He is now responsible for leading the Tri-borough library service covering Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham as well as Westminster.

David also worked for the predecessor of CILIP, leading on library management and organisation in the 1980s. He has been an Executive member of the Society of Chief Librarians for many years and a member of several former DCMS and MLA working groups, including those relating to library standards and plans.

An accredited peer with the Local Government Association, David has advised a number of authorities on their approach to library services. David is a passionate believer in the value of public libraries and an advocate of how they need to position themselves to remain relevant in modern society.
