Brigid Stacey

Brigid Stacey is Deputy Chief Executive, Chief Operating Officer and Nurse Director of Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust

Brigid qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1989 in the North West. Once she qualified, she moved to St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and quickly specialised in the field of Oncology and Haematology.

She worked in a variety of clinical roles but in 1994, she became one of the first Nurse Practitioners in North East Thames at Basildon Hospital.

During her time at Basildon, she moved into nurse management and in 2000 joined Luton and Dunstable Hospital as Director of Nursing and Midwifery. Whilst at Luton and Dunstable she undertook several roles including SHA lead nurse and Project Director for NHS Foundation Trust.

Brigid has a strong operational background and her keen interest is in the quality of care we deliver to patients in a safe environment. She was appointed Deputy Chief Executive in April 2008.
