Pragna Patel

 Pragna Patel
Pragna Patel is a founding member of the Southall Black Sisters centre and its current Director. She worked as a co-ordinator and senior case worker at SBS from 1982 to 1992, when she left to train as a solicitor.

She briefly practiced as a solicitor but remained actively involved in SBS and returned to work full time for SBS in 2009.

She has over 28 years of experience in advocacy and casework, policy, training and campaigning work particularly on gender-related violence in black and minority communities. She has been in the forefront of key case and campaigning milestones in the history of SBS and is also a founding member of Women Against Fundamentalism. She has written extensively on race, gender and religion.
