Professor Stephanie Marshall

Stephanie has recently been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and is looking forward to building on past achievements, providing uplifted leading edge support to improve the student learning experience.

She has recently become a Principal Fellow of the HEA and is also a Professor of Higher Education at the University of Manchester.

Previous to joining the HEA Stephanie was Director of Programmes at the Leadership Foundation, leading the organisations development portfolio to an extensive suite of leadership development activities.

Commencing her career in HE at the University of York, Stephanie joined the Department of Educational Studies progressing to become a College Provost – a position she held for over ten years.
Stephanie is currently editing the 4th edition of ‘A Handbook for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education’, with colleagues from the sector.
