Speaker Biography

Heather Pickard

Heather Pickard is the Programme Director for Fashion Management, London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, overseeing the Integrated Masters course MSc International Fashion Management and the long established BA (Hons) Fashion Management course.

She has been involved with the fashion industry for several years, having worked at Top Shop in the role of senior merchandiser and as a Buying and Merchandising controller at Laura Ashley, Sock Shop and River Island before her career changed direction when she joined the University of the Arts, London.

Her teaching across Further Education, Undergraduate and Post Graduate draws on her experience of Supply Chain and Buying and Merchandising and her role as Programme Director, Fashion Management utilises all the management skills acquired in industry. She is currently engaged with research in two areas; exploring retention and achievement of students and employability issues regarding future fashion managers.
