Dr Luke McDonagh

Dr Luke McDonagh
Dr Luke McDonagh is Lecturer in Law at Cardiff University. Before taking up this position he was LSE Fellow in the Law Department at the London School of Economics (LSE) during 2011-2013. He holds a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London (2011), an LLM from the London School of Economics (LSE) (2006-7) and a BCL degree from NUI, Galway (2002-05).

In recent years, he has conducted a great deal of empirical research in the area of patent litigation in projects supported by the UK Intellectual Property Office. His research on the issue of patent troll litigation in the UK was cited in a House of Commons debate in March 2014.

In July 2014 his report ‘Exploring Perspectives of the Unified Patent Court and Unitary Patent within the Business and Legal Communities’ was published by the IPO.
