Dr Michael Hopkins is Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange for the School of Business, Management and Economics, University of Sussex, where he is also Director of Research at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU). Michael trained as a biologist and worked in the biotechnology industry before gaining his MSc and DPhil at SPRU. His interdisciplinary research has focused for over 15 years on firm strategy, technology policy and industrial dynamics in the context of biomedical innovation. Michael is currently principle investigator on a project developing novel techniques for impact evaluation of biomedical research grants for the Medical Research Council.
