Emmanuel Gouge

Emmanuel specialises in intellectual property law with a special focus on patents and know-how disputes as well as information and telecommunication law, dealing with both contentious and transactional matters.

By virtue of his dual admissions in England and Wales and in France, as well as his professional experiences in Germany, he has been involved in a range of multi-jurisdictional intellectual property matters, including litigation of electronics, pharmaceutical and consumer products patents, validity litigation, compulsory licences and technology transfer agreements, as well as complex trademark infringement cases.

Emmanuel’s experience is complemented by his expertise in drafting and negating domestic and international IP agreements and technology transfer agreements.Emmanuel has been President of the licensing Executive Society (L.E.S. France) since 2012, and was re-elected as President in December 2014.Emmanuel began practicing intellectual property in 1994with the French Law firm CMS Francis Lefebvre in Brussels and then in Paris.

He pursued his legal practice in 1997 within Bird & Bird, first in London, before moving to the new office launched in Paris. In 2004, Emmanuel founded the Paris law firm EGAvocats, dedicated to intellectual property and information technology. He joined Pinsent Masons for the opening of the Paris office as head of the French IP practice in September 2012.
