Lone Gaedt

Senior Consultant/Physiotherapist, Centre of Robot Technology

For 30 years Lone Gaedt has been working with, and teaching about, old people and their physical and cognitive resources and handicaps. As a physiotherapist she works with and pays attention to (body) reactions, as well as the relation, situation, communication etc.

She has been working with healthy old people, patients suffering from one or several (more or less complex and invalidating) somatic diseases, and also with people with dementia and other cognitive impairments.

During the last 5 years she has focused on -and got experience from- finding, testing and evaluating (high- and low) technological helping aids, systems and possibilities for people with cognitive handicaps, their relatives and caregivers.

Currently she is involved in testing and evaluating different new robot-technologies at Danish Technological Institute, fx an eating-robot, a toilet-robot washing and drying, and specifically she is leading the Paro-project.
