Louise Gitter

Louise Gitter is a research manager in the Studies team of the Audit Commission, where she has worked since 2001. She has project managed the study on the financial implications of an ageing population for councils, and is the author of Under Pressure, the national report published in February 2010.

She has previously worked on a range of Audit Commission projects, including the report Connecting with users and citizens; the handbook and report for a study on services for disabled children and their families; and the study on charging for local services which resulted in the national report Positively Charged, published in 2008.

Her previous jobs have included working on a range of policy issues at the Department of Health; working as a consultant and researcher for Crime Concern; and managing the Food and Health research team at Consumers’ Association.
