Mary Cate MacLennan

Mary Cate MacLennan, Service Development Manager - Homeless Health
NHS Westminster and Westminster City Council (Joint Commissioning)
A Psychology graduate, Mary Cate initially worked in NHS medium secure settings, but has been in the homeless sector for 15 years; as volunteer, project worker, resettlement worker, and manager of hostels.

Mary Cate transferred back into the NHS, working as outreach worker, then manager, for a HIV and sexual health outreach team, delivering health promotion on the streets and in sex-working venues. Working with migrant and hyper-mobile populations, she supported peer-promoters and volunteers.

In 2005, she became a policy officer in public health, working with hostel providers to improve health access for residents. Subsequently, she worked as contract manager for the Local Area Agreement and then World Class Commissioning project lead.

In 2009, Mary Cate became the strategic lead for homeless health in Westminster, working across NHS Westminster and Westminster City Council.
