      <title>School Transport 2009</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;
	The national conference for all those working in school transport to explore emerging trends and issues, the latest policy and guidance and hear innovative best practice. Through the Local Transport Bill, Local Authorities will receive enhanced powers to deliver transport services so that they reflect better the needs of the local area. This conference showed how empowered Local Authorities can incorporate school travel planning into wider plans which tackle the sustainability and congestion issues of local areas. The event also examined the viability of recommendations of the Yellow Bus Commission to roll out a nationwide scheme. Delegates explored how school travel planners can support the delivery of the 14-19, post-16 and positive activities targets as well as meet Local Area Agreement priorities. The event also provided best practice on special educational needs transport, working with operators, raising bus driver skills, and walking and cycling plans.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Enforcement: An Essential Public Service</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;
	Traffic enforcement is an essential public service, impacting on key areas and helping to maintain a sustainable transport system that supports a strong economy, works to facilitate traffic flow and meets our environmental objectives. The 2008 Enforcement Task Force (ETF) event set out the role of traffic enforcement in contributing and implementing local and national government policy. As well as traffic management, it examined issues around accessibility, congestion and the environment and also provided insight into the implemented and proposed Traffic Management Act 2004 regulations and guidance. The ETF is a group of the key enforcement agencies in London, established to make high level strategic decisions on enforcement issues and to promote best practice in the industry.&lt;/p&gt;
