Garth Long

Garth is professional adviser for education who joined the NMC in 2002 having previously been seconded by the ENB to the UKCC. Until 2006 he was jointly responsible at the NMC for UK wide quality assurance of education but then focused on education policy. This included leading on the review of fitness for practice at the point of registration and the simulation and practice learning project. More recently Garth has been responsible for the development and publication of the new standards for pre-registration nursing education which were published in September 2010.
