Robert Reardon

Senior Investment Officer, State Farm Insurance


Bob Reardon is a Senior Investment Officer at State Farm Insurance, the largest personal lines insurer in the United States. After joining State Farm in 1982, he has spent his career in the fixed income area. His primary specialty has been public finance, and he has been involved with municipal bond investing since joining the firm. He is currently responsible for the oversight and management of State Farm’s $48 billion municipal bond portfolio invested in state and local government securities in the U.S.

Originally a native of Bloomington, Illinois, Bob attended Denison University and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He completed his MBA in finance in 1984 at the Illinois State University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Investment Analyst Society of Chicago.

Bob is a member and past President of the Chicago Municipal Analysts Society. He is also a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and served as Treasurer of that organization while on its board. He has served on the investor advisory boards to several national organizations including the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, the United States General Accounting Office and the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board.
