Denise Burke
At the end of 2010 Denise and her husband Stephen set up United for All Ages, a social enterprise bringing together younger and older people to create stronger communities and a stronger Britain. They are currently working with local authorities to look at ways to sustain children’s centres and libraries through offering shared sites, as well as, housing associations and other organisations. They also plan to use their knowledge and experience of childcare, youth, older people’s issues and intergenerational work to advise national and local organisations and influence future policymaking.
Denise had previously been working as an early years and childcare consultant since leaving the London Development Agency in March 2010 after six successful years as Head of Youth and Childcare.
Until recently she was chair of BBC Children in Need for London and the South East, chair of a primary school governing body and on the management committee of a children’s centre.
