Speaker Biography

Nicky Morgan

Nicky was appointed Director, Libraries at the Arts Council in autumn 2011.

Before joining the Arts Council, Nicky undertook a variety of roles at the MLA (2005) including Regional Learning and Skills Strategy
Adviser and National Senior Policy Adviser for Museums Education.

She was also Programme Manager responsible for the Big Lottery funded ‘Their Past Your Future intergenerational learning programme’ and has run museum education programmes
including Renaissance learning, Find Your Talent and the Library Action plan.

Nicky received Chartership from CILIP in 1979 and has worked in both public and further education libraries undertaking work
including reader and literature development; managing of Literature Festivals; working with children and young people; business planning and performance management.
