Employability for Scotland
21 May 2008
2nd Annual Conference held at Mcdonald Holyrood Hotel, Edinburgh
To meet the challenge of the global marketplace it is essential that Scotland drives excellence in the workplace and is equipped with a skilled, successful and diverse workforce. Following the announcement of the government's lifelong skills strategy, this conference set out how to improve employability skills to ensure that Scotland can compete in the rapidly changing economic environment by addressing the balance between academic and vocational training and considered how to improve communication and collaboration between learning and business. Delegates heard the latest policy developments and showcase examples of best practice as well as what needs to be done to ensure that all Scotland's citizens have the chance to reach their full potential.
