NHS Centre for Involvement
28 Nov 2007
Over the last decade, patients and the public have been integral to health decision making in one form or another. With the introduction of key legislation such as the NHS Act 2006 and the Health and Social Care Act 2001, NHS organisations are now finding themselves placing patient, carers and users at the heart of service change. Further change is expected as the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill gathers momentum and new structures for involvement emerge. This conference explored how different methods of patient and public involvement are making a real difference to the delivery and creation of new and existing health services across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
