School Transport 2008
24 Jan 2008
6th National Conference held at the Barbican Centre, London
Of interest to anyone involved in planning and delivering school travel, this annual conference explores the latest government policies, best practice and innovations. The Local Transport Act will charge local authorities with promoting sustainable travel and mobility and tackling congestion. These new duties mirror the underlying principles of the school travel arrangements contained within the Education and Inspections Act – thus strengthening local authorities’ capabilities to deliver effectively their published school travel strategies. Key speakers: Rt Hon David Blunket MP; Nigel Campbell, Co-Chair, Travelling to School Initiative DfT; and David Kidney MP.
