Speaker Biography

Pat Eastwood

Pat currently works in the Academic Enhancement Unit of Liverpool John Moores University having studied at Bangor University and Manchester Polytechnic and having worked previously at the North East Wales Institute and Bolton University. At LJMU Pat has enjoyed a variety of roles and now has a particular responsibility within the Academic Enhancement Unit for curricula and assessment. A number of policy developments within LJMU on learner support, and assessment, have been led by Pat. The two main challenges she faces are working with staff to develop workable policies that can then be evaluated.

Pat co-ordinated LJMU’s project on developing inclusive learning and teaching as part of the HE Academy’s summit programme. This project was very ambitious with its aim of promoting cultural change regarding the attitudes to, and management of equality and diversity within the University. The project team believe that inclusivity is a key factor in enhancing student success.
