Rob Bates
Head of school Foundation studies, City College Norwich.
Rob spent five years in youth work in difficult areas of Mansfield, Rob was then invited to take up a post in Foundation Studies at West Nottinghamshire College. After progressing to a management position with the College, Rob designed and created a Social Enterprise model called BAY6 which won a National Award and his work achieved a QIA Star Award in 2006.
Moving to Norfolk in 2007, Rob joined City College Norwich as a Programme Manager and is now Head of School for Foundation Studies and Skills for Life, which offers a range of programmes from pre entry level to GCSE. The School has 700 full and part time students, many with complex needs, and 65 staff. The School is growing and developing and has gained recognition within the further education sector nationally.
