Professor Bernerd King CBE MSc PhD CCMI FIWSc CBiol FIBiol

Professor  Bernerd King  CBE MSc PhD CCMI FIWSc CBiol FIBiol
is Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abertay Dundee, and also Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Scottish Crop Research Institute, Vice-Convener of Universities Scotland, a Board Member of the Scottish Leadership Foundation and the Higher Education Academy, and Chair of the latter’s National Subject Profiles Steering Group, and a member of the Audit Committee of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Before joining Abertay, Professor King was Assistant Principal of Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, and prior to that Head of Molecular & Life Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Science at Abertay University’s predecessor body, Dundee Institute of Technology.

Professor King has also served as a Council Member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and as a Board Member of the National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting for Scotland, the Higher Education Quality Council of the UK, the Quality Committee of the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, the Institute of Learning and Teaching, Tayside Primary Healthcare Trust, and Scottish Enterprise Tayside
