Tim Cooper

Harlequin (UK) Limited (HUK) is a leading UK publisher with three consumer facing imprints – the romantic series imprint, Mills & Boon; the contemporary fiction imprint MIRA and the young adult imprint Mira Ink.

More than 100 titles are published every month in both print and digital formats. Reporting to the Managing Director, Tim’s current responsibilities include: P&L control; strategic leadership of three business units (Book Club, Internet and Digital) consumer and digital marketing; customer services; loyalty and retention in the Book Club and online retail accounts.

Tim’s key achievements include devising and successfully leading digital strategy, launching HUK digital products (eBooks). He has established the eBook supply chain, including integrating eBooks to the millsandboon.co.uk site, offering the format choice in one place, creating a level playing field to print editions, unique in the market at the time of launch. Utilising Social Media and other digital tools form a large part of Tim’s strategy to further engage and broad the reach of HUK’s activities and product.

He has also initiated and led a project to launch a new website, resulting in winning the NMA Effectiveness Award Retail category 2009. The project resulted in a 25% uplift in average monthly sales, with effective enhanced functionality focusing on web 2.0.
