Penelope joined Thanet College, Broadstairs, in 2011 in a business development role and, after a nine month process, rebranded the College as East Kent College in August 2012.

Penelope has led Communications and Marketing teams in FE and HE and in the NHS as well as working as a coach and operating her own PR company which specialised in healthcare. She previously rebranded Canterbury Christ Church University to a brand which has now lasted 13 years with only a minor modification when the institution's status changed.

Penelope has also worked in the private sector, in the IT industry, and in local government.
