Kate Heaps

Having a background in nursing in the NHS and voluntary sectors, Kate gained further management experience as Palliative Care Project Manager for SE London Cancer Network coupled with the additional role of End of Life Care Programme Manager for SE London.

Kate joined the Hospice as Director of Care during which time she led the community work stream for the Marie Curie Delivering Choice Programme. As a result of this programme, the Hospice worked with its partners to establish the Greenwich Care Partnership in 2011. Kate became Chief Executive in 2010 and has overall responsibility for strategy, service development, financial and clinical governance working to ensure that the Hospice provides an integrated and quality service to dying people across the area the Hospice serves whenever and wherever they need it.

Kate is the London representative for the National Council for Palliative Care and Chair of their Cancer Policy Group.
