Speaker Biography

Nicky Brownjohn

Over 27 years nursing experience in the NHS and Private Health settings. Specialised in elderly care before transferring to Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (school nursing).

After developing this role as a Clinical Team Leader, Specialist Practice Teacher and Lecturer/Practitioner, Nicky changed direction to specialise in child protection within acute and community setting, gaining a MA in Safeguarding Practice taking on the role of Designated Nurse in a range of London boroughs.
Since the NHS reforms Nicky has taken on role of Associate Director for Safeguarding for a Collaboration of four CCGs focusing on the safeguarding of both children and vulnerable adults. Additionally, since September 2013, Nicky has been a Visiting Fellow in Safeguarding for the University.
