Speaker Biography

Ruth Clemlow

Ruth Clemow is Head of School for Social Sciences, Primary Care and Education in the Faculty of Society & Health at Bucks New University. Ruth has worked at the University for 6 years. Her previous employment has been in diverse health care contexts as a Registered Nurse, including community and primary care and various hospital settings, as well as holding leadership and managerial roles in independent organisations.

Ruth has held academic leadership roles in three Higher Education Institutions with complex partnership provision and institutes over fifteen years. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Ruth’s research interests include interprofessional learning and collaborative practice, simulation for skills rehearsal, transformational education, emotional intelligence in the caring professions, vicarious trauma and other pedagogic research.

Ruth is a member of the Bucks County Council Dignity in Care Strategy Group. Ruth is the Service Improvement Research and Evaluation (SIREP) project leader, funded by the Higher Education Academy and delivered through Bucks to enable post graduate students to engage in real live service improvement projects with health and social care partners and employers, to enhance their employability.
