Professor Salem, appointed president in January 2015, joined the University of Wollongong in Dubai in 2004 and has held various posts including dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences and 10 months as acting president. An expert in engineering and IT, he has overseen the expansion of a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
