Liz Gaulton

Liz Gaulton is Service Director Family Support and Children’s Health for Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and NHS Knowsley. She is responsible for a broad remit of children’s health including public health, the commissioning of child health services and family support services including children’s centres, play services, extended schools and family learning. She is also the Director responsible for child health strategy, parenting strategy, family policy and child poverty.

Liz lives in Liverpool and has two sons. She began her career as a general nurse at the University Hospital Aintree, moving on to work in mental health posts and then working with homeless families in Liverpool. She gained a Masters in Public Health and after working in public health in Knowsley as Deputy Director of Public Health, she moved to Blackburn with Darwen as Acting Director of Public Health, before returning to Knowsley’s Children and Family Services.

Liz is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and is registered with the UK Voluntary Register of Public Health. She is also a Trustee of Heart of Mersey.
