Jane Linsell

Jane had worked in FE for 18 years before joining South Birmingham College in 2006 as the Deputy Director for Student Services. She previously held the post of Head of Student Services at Solihull College, and that of Tutorial Manager for four years, having worked at the college for a total of 14 years.

Upon joining South Birmingham College in 2006 she became part of a team of Child Protection Officers. Within a year of joining Jane was responsible for setting up a safeguarding steering group to look at the wider context of safeguarding within the college.

After entering further education in 1993, Jane obtained her 730 in Teaching and Learning, quickly followed by the Certificate of Education in 1998, a BA Hons in Further and Adult Education in 2001 from Wolverhampton, and a Masters in Educational Management from the University of Warwick in 2006.

Jane is an executive member for the National Association for Student Services Managers, an active member of the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board, and more recently the training steering group for the Birmingham Safeguarding Children’s Board.
