Mark Pembleton

Mark Pembleton has worked in Local Government now for 10 years. Before this he worked as an accountant for Grant Thornton and a Programme Manager for VSO in Ghana.

Mark began his local government career at Wirral MBC in the special initiatives team successfully bidding for SRB funding for the New Wallasey scheme of £9.1M and £3.4M under the URBAN Initiative for the Leasowe estate. Mark then went on to head up the Economic Development Team at Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council managing a major Objective 2 programme including an innovative local labour initiative and the development of the Technology Centre.

In 1999 he took up his present post as Economic Development Manager for Cheshire County Council. This role includes managing inward investment and marketing, development schemes, an incubation network and Made In Cheshire.

He is also the Vice Chair of the Chief Economic Development officer’s society.
