Glynne Stanfield

Glynne Stanfield read law at Jesus College, Oxford. He heads Eversheds Governance and Evershed IInternational Education practice.

He advised on the setting up of the QAA and OIA. He acts for the Russell Group and is its company secretary. He was involved in setting up four of the five successful AHSCs.

He recently acted on the UCL and Yale tie up. He was the lead partner on the mergers between the University of Manchester and UMIST, the University of Glamorgan and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the University of Surrey and Guildford School
of Acting.

He has worked extensively in the Gulf and Asia including advising Newcastle University on its medical campus in Malaysia and marine engineering campus in Singapore, acting for City University on its joint venture in Dubai and UCL on its Adelaide campus. He is the lead partner in setting up UCL’s City academy and is advising a number of higher education institutions sponsoring academies. He advised Apollo Global on its £300million takeover of BPP.

He is recognised as a leading lawyer in the UK legal directories “Legal 500” and Chambers.
