Since qualifying as a general Nurse in 1995 and Registered Midwife in 1997, I have worked clinically as a midwife, midwife team manager and Supervisor of midwives. 2004 saw a change in direction when I began working as a Midwife teacher. At this time I began studying for a doctorate in clinical practice. My interests continue in the supervision of midwives, professionalism (including decision making and autonomy), legal aspects and ensuring the support and preparation for future midwives who are fit for purpose in an ever changing world.
