Professor Malcolm McRae

Professor Malcolm McRae, Chair, UK Council for Graduate Education (UKCGE)

Professor McCrae joined his present department at the University of Warwick at the beginning of the 1980's. During his time at the University his research group, which works on the molecular virology of several viruses, has published ~80 peer reviewed scientific papers. He was Chair of the Warwick Graduate School for almost a decade (1995-2004) and was closely involved in the formation of the Leicester-Warwick Medical School acting as Chair of the new Faculty of Medicine at Warwick from the 2000 to 2002. He has long established links with China and was recently appointed as a visiting ‘Foreign Expert’ by the Chinese Government. He joined the Executive Committee of UKCGE in 1999, served as Vice Chair of the Committee from 2001-6 and became Chair in 2006.
