Mike Laycock

Mike has spoken at national and international conferences, published widely, carried out much consultancy for UK HEIs, and undertaken much local, national and international pedagogic staff development. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and, currently, Co-Chair of the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA).

His most recent consultancy work, aside from offering workshops on matters related to teaching, learning and assessment to a number of universities (including Cranfield University where he has also given recent workshops in India) has included making recommendations for substantial changes to the Personal Tutor system at Oxford Brookes University and Roehampton University.

Internationally, he is helping to establish a new university in Jakarta. In 2012 he evaluated the introduction of Service Learning in universities in Jordan and Lebanon and more recently he has been invited to evaluate the introduction of Human Rights courses in universities in the Balkans.
