Mark Freeman

 Mark Freeman
Libraries Manager, South Tyneside Metropolitan Council.

Mark Freeman is Libraries Manager for South Tyneside Council and has worked closely over the past years with the National Third Sector organisations providing services for blind or partially sighted people. He began his career with Northamptonshire Libraries in the late seventies and worked for over 19 years for North Yorkshire County Library in a variety of roles.

He is currently Chair of the Society of Chief Librarians North East and interim Chair of “Share the Vision”, a partnership between libraries and the voluntary sector which aims to improve access to reading and library services for visually impaired people. “Share the Vision” currently supports the North East Accessible Libraries and Information Services project, funded by MLA, to work towards a better customer experience for blind and partially sighted readers.
