Dr Scott McLean

Scott qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1995 from The University of Abertay in Fife, Scotland. The subsequent 14 years of his career spanned Cardiology units in Fife, Edinburgh, Waterford and Dublin.

His last clinical post was as Consultant Nurse in Acute Cardiology at The Edinburgh Heart Centre, where he completed his PhD in the Optimal Treatment Of Patients With Acute Coronary Syndromes And The Evolutionary Role Of Nurses and Allied Health Professionals. His work has won him national accolade and in addition to being published in over 20 peer-reviewed publications, he is current President of The British Association For Nursing In Cardiovascular Care.

Scott’s took up post in April 2009 as Divisional Nurse at Barts and The London NHS Trust, where he has professional responsibility for services in Renal, Urology, Vascular, Respiratory, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Critical Care and Endocrinology over three acute sites and five satellite units.
