Tami McCrone

Tami McCrone (BA Hons, PGCE), Research Manager, joined NFER from a further education college where she lectured higher education and FE students as well as providing pastoral and careers support.

Tami has more than fifteen years’ experience of undertaking research and evaluation studies. During her nine years at NFER, Tami has completed a number of research projects and evaluations in the 14 to 19 phase of education including research into young people’s choices, careers education and Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), NEETs and further education.

Tami was recently one of the research managers who led the national evaluation of the implementation and impact of Diplomas for the DfE and IAG was one of the strands of this evaluation.

She has also recently completed two projects specifically in the Careers and Guidance field, the first of which aimed to gain insights into the qualifications, skills and the role of careers coordinators. The second evaluated the ‘fitness for purpose’ of the IAG services provided to young people and identified the fundamentals of ‘good’ IAG.
