Mike Nicholson

 Mike Nicholson
Mike Nicholson has been Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach at the University of Oxford since October 2006. He is responsible for coordinating admissions and outreach activity across the University, and acting as the public face on admissions issues for the media.

Mike’s career has focused on university admissions, student recruitment, and widening participation, mainly at the University of Essex. He has served as the Chair of the Higher Education Liaison Officers’ Association (HELOA) and as a Director of the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), as well as a member on three Aim Higher Partnership boards.

He is currently a member of the OCR Qualifications Committee and also served on the Pearson National Advisory Panel and the UCAS Tariff Advisory Group. He is a Governor of Henley College, a state sixth form college in Oxfordshire. Mike is a graduate of Sheffield University (English and History) and also spent a year as an undergraduate at Allegheny College, Pennsylvania.
