Phil Evans is responsible for all of the services that the Met Office provides within the public sector. This includes predictions on climate change; advice on the spreading of airborne animal diseases and 'free at the point of use' services we provide to emergency responders and the general public.

He has worked for the Met Office since 1988. Later he led the development of a satellite calibration and testing facility under a joint programme with NASA.
