Speaker Biography

Colin Maclean

Colin Maclean has been the Director for Community Links Bromley (CLB) since September 2011. CLB is the Council for Voluntary Service and Volunteer Centre for the London Borough of Bromley and is the lead body representing the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.

He previously was the Interim Director for the Margate Task Force (a unique multi-agency partnership); Director of Thanet Works; and Head of Partnerships for the Kent Partnership (Kent’s county LSP). He joined Kent County Council as the Head of External Funding and was seconded to lead on the development of a new strategy on working with the VCSE as well as the Kent Partners Compact.

Prior to Kent, he worked in London in a variety of senior management positions responsible for regeneration and housing renewal strategies and programmes. His qualifications include an MBA and BSC (Hons.) in Town and Regional Planning.

His voluntary work has included: Chairman of the Margate Safer and Stronger Communities Fund programme; Vice-Chair of West Kent Xtra (a social regeneration charity); National Board of Carr-Gomm; and as a school governor. He is currently the Chair of the Interim Executive Board for the Bromley Pupil Referral Unit.
